Care of your items: 

For non-food usage, both Home Depot and Lowe's carry 'Feed n Wax'. It is a combination of beeswax and orange oil.

For items where food will contact the piece, mineral oil, available in the health and beauty aisle of your local grocery store is safe and will work very well.

Both of the above mentioned items when used as needed (you will notice the finish of your wood wood needs refreshing)  will keep your pieces looking great for many years to come.
